Muzica si arhitectura- "UN EDIFICIU,CONCEPUT CA UN MIC UNIVERS, REFLECTA ARMONIA MUZICALA A COSMOSULUI"

   In cartea sa Singende Steine, etnomuzicologul Marius Schneider subliniaza corespondenta surprinzatoare dintre simbolurile reliefurilor sculptate pe capitelurile galeriilor exterioare ale Manastirilor Saint Cugat si Gerona, din Catalunia, si un text indian despre muzica din secolul al XIII-lea. Daca este dificil sa propunem o relatie directa intre galeriile manastirilor si acest text, pare verosimil sa presupunem ca ambele fac apel la cunostinte similare care, in timp, s-au pierdut.

   Textul indian sugereaza o serie de relatii constante intre unele animale si notele muzicale, astfel incat nota re, de exemplu, este reprezentata de paun, mi-de bou, si- de cal s.a.m.d.

   Aceleasi animale apar pe capitelurile celor doua claustrum-uri catalane, construite in stil romanic, si apar sa "recompuna", conform unei structuri complexe, secventa notelor unui imn medieval dedicat sfantului local Cucufate.

   Surpinzator, strofa muzicala a imnului corespunde succesiunii celor patruzeci de note (pe saptezeci de coloane) reprezentate de animale sculptate pe capiteluri. 

  In his book Singende Steine​​, ethnomusicologist Marius Schneider emphasizes the surprising correspondence between symbols carved reliefs on capitals from the outer galleries of Monasteries Saint Cugat and Gerona, from Catalonia, and an Indian text about music from the XIII century.

  If it is difficult to suggest a direct relationship between the galleries monasteries and this text, it seems plausible to assume that both appeal to similar knowledge, that over time, were lost.

  Indian text suggests some consistent relationships between some animals and musical notes, the note re, for example, is represented by the peacock, mi- ox, si-horse etc.

The same animals appear on the capitals of the two catalan claustrum, built in Romanesque style, and appear to "recompose" , accordin to a complex structure,sequence  notes of a medieval anthem dedicated to the saint Cucufate place.
